Solid Gamepad : Saitek PP32 PS2700 Rumble Pad for use with PC or PS3 Game Console
Saitek PP32 PS2700 Rumble Pad for use with PC or PS3 Game Console

I purchased this game pad because of the precision aim feature, which works as described. The thing that I find awkward and cannot understand the rationale for is the way the left joystick is designed. Most joysticks are set in a round base, this enable free movement in any direction. The left joystick on this pad is set in a square base, which makes movement very awkward. I find that walking forward is difficult because when I push the analog stick forward it has a tendency to slide to the right corner of the square base, which makes my guy in the game (Battlefield) move diagonally. This is even more prevalent when you push down on the joystick as if to run (L3) because there is even more pressure on the joystick. Because of this I cannot use this controller for any FPS games. Other than this the controller seems to be durable.

Customer Review :

Best PC gamepad currently available : Saitek P3600 Cyborg Force Rumble Pad (PP26U)
I was hoping to use this controller with "Games for Windows" titles and any other games that officially only support the Xbox 360 controller. The manufacturer's description indicates "Increasingly, PC games are shipping with support for Microsoft's Xbox 360 gamepad and switching the Cyborg Rumble Pad into X-Mode configures it to work in the same way."

However, this is just simply not true. The controller is not recognized in these games, and it is useable only if you use the programming software to emulate keystrokes and mouse movements, which is worthless for anything requiring analog control. Keystroke emulation is something that ANY controller can do with some bundled or free software, so there is no reason to say this controller is any more compatible with "Games for windows" than any other.

It is a fine controller for games that natively support third party gamepads, but those are becoming rare these days, as developers just port over their xbox controls to the pc version. I have been otherwise very happy with Saitek products, but I am very disappointed with what I consider to be false advertising in regards to this gamepad.

Customer Review :

Keyboard extravaganza : Saitek PC Gamer's Keyboard
Let me just preface this characterize by mentioning that I read many buyer reviews(here and elsewhere) on this goods before purchasing it. I focused on the negative reviews as to make a good idea of any potential make flaws. After using this keyboard for practically 6 months I believe that Saitek delivers an enthralling make with solid quality.

Command Pad: Many reviews bash this feature. It is quite a basic pad as compared to some, but it gets the job done. My only main gripe with the pad was how it failed to deliver some windows macros such as ctrl-alt-delete. During games such as WoW and CoD2 I had no problems whatsoever. The rumor about the horrible software and it being buggy was nonexistent for me. The customers who claimed it to be "impossible" and "buggy" seem to be computer illiterate at best, and judging from the frequency of grammatical errors in their reviews, potential English illiterate as well. If you are customary with computer hardware then you will be fine with this software and pad.

Keyboard: The quietness, response, and uncut feel of the keys rival any Logitech design. I am a huge fan/customer of Logitech equipment, and thus can confidently state that this board is of equal material quality. Saitek took a more uncomplicated route with this design(no Lcd screen etc...) and the price shows it.

*I practically laughed out loud after recently reading some of the passionate and disgruntled reviews about the lack of key-symbol illumination. It is unavoidable that these reviewers did not know much about the goods they purchased. Unfortunately failing to be informed about a goods one buys totally demerits any kind of negative idea resulting from that lack of knowledge. I would guess that 90% of the negative reviews about this board capitalize on this point resulting in a much lower uncut rating than deserved.

Last and probably least comes the aesthetics, of course the most subjective part of any review. I found this setup to be very sharp looking. In the dark, the vivid key definition from the backlights allows any experienced typist to fast find whatever he/she is finding for. This eliminates the need for symbol illumination. Although symbol illumination might be a nice touch, especially for the keyboard deficient, I feel that Saitek sacrificed this choice to supply very durable lettering. I have lost some lettering on Logitech keyboards sooner than the 6 months I've been using this one(Although frequency of gaming has fluctuated). Saitek Engineers probably figured that most gamers would know the keyboard well adequate to not need both key definition and symbol illumination, apparently an oversight on their part.

I will recap this lengthy characterize by recommending this keyboard to any capable computer enthusiast who desires a good value.

Customer Review :

Great pad : Saitek P2600 Rumble Pad PC Game Controller
An perfect gamepad all around--my weapon of choice for nearly every game (despite the fact I own some Logitech Dual-Actions).

I find that the controller size is perfect: a bit bigger than the Logitechs, they tend to sit better when I pick up the controller. Both analog sticks are right where your thumbs end up, manufacture it very easy to accurately move them, even when you need to nudge them tiny distances with great accuracy. The shoulder triggers are large and well placed-whether you use your pointer and middle fingers or either you just use the pointer fingers, you'll find that you won't hesitate for a millisecond to find any trigger button. The fact that there are six face buttons is a dream for those arcade-style games that need them (Marvel vs. Capcom, etc).

There are two downsides that every single man will face with this controller, though they shouldn't be nearly adequate to discourage you.

The first is the Fps highlight activation button--it sits on the top of the controller near the face buttons and did tend to get in the way in the beginning--I never use the highlight and hitting it by accident has unwelcome effects on gameplay (sometimes, your buttons won't work until you press the button again). I for one virtually never hit it anymore, but if it were still a question for me, I wouldn't hesitate to pop out the button with a screwdriver--it's not like you would beyond doubt use the button, not ever.

The second is the Directional D-Pad (if you won't beyond doubt be playing classic/emulated games, this shouldn't be an issue to you). Although it's conveniently shaped, it makes for somewhat buttery gameplay. It's tough to pull off complicated combo moves in fighting games, because your timing will be inevitably thrown off a tiny bit because the D-Pad moves too softly and gel-like. It shouldn't be a question in more forgiving games like Mortal Kombat (and of course games like Mario will work just fine), but it took me weeks and weeks to get my super moves working every time in Marvel vs. Capcom. I persevered solely because of the six face buttons and I must say it's entirely worth it. As for the "durability" of the D-Pad: I have used the similar P990 (which is similar in every way to this gamepad, except it doesn't have the rumble feature) for years (with a fair estimate of abuse) and the D-Pad is as steady as the day it arrived in the mail.

It's a shame that discussing cons takes so much longer than listing the pros, even though the pros outweigh the cons by many orders of magnitude. If you're seeing for a great rumble gamepad, Buy This Controller! You won't be sorry. As a note, the Saitek P990 Dual Analog Game Pad will do everything this gamepad does except the rumble--I wholeheartedly propose that controller as well.

P.S. Don't forget to install the Saitek driver. Even though Windows will automatically detect the gamepad, you still need to download and install the lawful Saitek driver or else some games won't recognize the controller properly.

Customer Review :

Luck of the draw -- the "phantom key press " issue! : Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with Three-Lever Throttle (PZ44)
Purchased the yoke, further throttle and pedals. Pitch axis is a touch too tight, but other than that, very study and well constructed piece of hardware. The clock makes timed approaches and holds eaiser, and the fluid movement of the pitch/roll axis make hand flying approaches a lot of fun. However..

The unit I recieved is experiencing the same phantom key presses that others have reported. This behaviour is acknowledged by Saitek Support, and they indicate that it only affects some units and are not issuing a full recall. Phantom key presses are quite annoying (i.e. Gear advent up on it's own when on a 1/4 mile final). I've tried the "fix" which seems to work for some (using a Pci Usb card), to no avail.

One very determined note is Amazon's support. I e-mailed just asking if I should work directly through Saitek Usa or Amazon for a replacement (as it's a Saitek acknowledged problem), nothing but an e-mailed question. The follow was an e-mail from Amazon informing me that they were sending a replacement unit to me via overnight with instructions on how to send back my faulty unit.

My only worry now is that since bulk units were sent to Amazon, that the replacement yoke will have the same problem. Being that Amazon probably purchased in bulk, if the qoute only affects determined serial whole blocks, the odds are the replacement will have the same qoute (Have a friend who bought same yoke on same day from dissimilar vendor, not experiencing this problem). If that's the case, I'll just either return for a reimbursement with Amazon, or replacement directly with Saitek (when they get more in stock).

Other than the the phantom key issue, perfect product!
